Using Pine Straw as mulch adds beauty to your landscape while deterring weeds and grass. It is naturally insect and rodent free, adheres well to slopes, and will not wash away during heavy rain. Pine straw does not need to be removed when old. Simply place fresh straw on top of existing straw to revitalize the color and to add bulk.

Bales weigh approximately 25 pounds and are tightly compressed in a compact bundle. Each bale contains about 3 cubic feet and will cover 60 square feet when applied 2-3 inches thick.

It is recommended that you spread it 2-3 inches thick for the first year of application. In order to maintain your landscape every year, you should add another inch.
